Hailing from Cairns/Gimuy in Far North Queensland, Sunday Mistake are an emerging indie rock band blending raw, jangly instrumentation with emotionally charged, melancholy lyricism. Inspired by acts like Ball Park Music and Royel Otis. Formed in late 2025 through their schools music program, Sunday Mistake are united over a shared love for honest storytelling and the rush of cathartic energy of live music, Sunday Mistake’s sound cuts straight to the bone, a raw reflection of the emotions that come with just existing. Sunday Mistake draws from both nostalgia and the immediacy of modern indie rock. Their songs explore the quiet victories and small tragedies of everyday life, creating emotional landscapes that linger long after the last note. Playing at venues in the FNQ area such as Tank 5 [Tanks Art Centre], Elixr Bar and more. The lineup features Jasper Farnan (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Alex Pitkin (lead guitar/keys), Amber Kukulies (bass/vocals), and Riki Nagata-Black (drums/percussion). United by a shared passion for music.
